Paducah Kindness COLOR Walk
PADUCAH KINDNESS WALK CHANGES
The sixth annual Paducah Kindness Color Walk will look different this year.
The pandemic makes it impossible for the 1200 people who attended the last year’s walk to gather safely at Noble Park on August 1.
But the Guess Anti-Bullying Foundation isn’t cancelling the opportunity to celebrate and spread kindness. They are distributing walk shirts to registrants along with a color packet.
Participants are encouraged to wear their shirts, to do kind acts, and to recreate the traditional color throw with their individual packets of color.
“Kindness has never been more important,” said Morgan Guess. “I see fear and anger spreading on social media and in communities across our nation. Let’s turn that negative energy into something positive. One person and one kind act makes a difference and real change comes when we multiply intentional acts of kindness.”
For those who pre-registered by July 15, shirts and color packets can be picked up from 3 to 6 p.m. on July 29 & 30 at Noble Park. Individuals are asked to drive up to Shelter 16 and volunteers will distribute packets directly to vehicles. We have discovered that no credit cards were charged and no payments were made to our Foundation. Emails were sent to all who pre-registered. Please check your email.
There are also plans to lift up the kindness legacy of the late Dr. Clint Hill. Hill, who was killed in a plane crash last November, is this year’s honorary Grand Marshal.
The Guesses are encouraging the community to perform kind acts as a way to honor the late Orthopaedic Institute surgeon. They ask for those kind acts to be captured by posting them on individual social media pages with two hashtags – #BeKind4ClintHill and #bekindpaducah.
Cards are also being collected to distribute to nursing homes and can be dropped off at Noble Park on either day.
